Well I wasnt going to say to much, but I just wanted to let you guys know, that I have been staying up at the U of Iowa Hospital's with Grace, and Sarah. Cause Gracey has type 1 diabetic...She was dianogsed on Monday, and we have been here since Monday evening. It has been a long 3 days now, and we are all ready to go home.

Her blood sugar levels when we got here was in the 500 range. (normal is 80-120) It was today at 150, so much, much better. The doctor's think that we will be able to head out later today. The have been teaching us, diet stuff, carbs and what not. Stuff Sarah and I knew about. But, they have to do it anyway. She has to take a long acting insulin at night, 4iu's...and has to take short acting (like humalog) during the day, at every meal ...2 iu's ... She is allowed 50-55 grams of carbs per meal. Up to 180 grams per day.

Please say a prayer for her. She has been so tough, and mentally strong during the during this whole process...

Bro you know if there is anything that I can do to help just let me know... You have a tough little lady.. I hope everthing gets better Chris.. My prayers are with you and your family !!!

Oh man Chris...I am sorry for you guys and from someone that has walked a mile in your shoes...I will pray for your family.

At least she has parents who can teach her the proper way to treat and live with type 1. Certainly be thankful that it is controllable and something she can live with.

Well we are home again. Just trying to get back to normal again. Its a life changing thing. We really have to watch Grace on what she eats. Not that she cant be a kid, and not eat junk food. but just watch the amounts. Its not a great thing. But im grateful that it isnt something worse than this. Most of the kids at the children hospital was kids with cancer.

My heart goes out to you and your family. Diabetes type 1 is hard, but it can be overcome with a lot of help from friends and family. My prayers are with you.
