So we got hit with more snow and ice last night and I was running behind this morning because of it. I made it to the gym and did a chest workout (incline barbell, flat dumbbell presses, incline dumbbells flyers and pushups) with 2 sets of rope triceps pushdowns. I did it in like 20-25 minutes and did 3 sets of everything except the triceps exercise. Afterward I was wondering was it even worth doing a half ass workout. What do you guys think? If you can get it in and get a pump is it worth it or would you be better off just skipping the day? I think something is always better than nothing, but I feel very unsatisfied with it. Thats just me, I guess I want to kill it every workout, but at least I made it.

ive got sick twice the past 2 weeks and lost about 10lbs my body still aches so when i went to the gym the past two nights i was just going through motions actually kinda depressed because i was hoping to be setting new max on bench and shoulder press last week. its been cold the past 2 days here and its been cold as fuck in the gym (glad i dont wear a tank top lol)

i try not to miss any major muscle days but if not motivated or have time limit when i get to the gym i will just do some quicker sets and lighter weight then get my ass out of there

If I only have 25-30 minutes, I will limit my exercises to 3 sets sort of like the Dorian Yates style. 1 warm up set, 1 medium set and 1 working set, all with 1 minute rests. It gets the heartrate up and almost feels like a mild cardio. I normally keep my workouts 45 min to an hour anyway, so condensing everything makes it work fairly decent anyway. I'm almost always pressed for time except for like 2 days a week.
But, to answer the original question, Yes it's worth it. Step up the pace and PRIORITISE..........

Peace

I think it's always best to get in and do what you can. Every workout can't be 100%, but I think it helps in many ways just to do something. It's way too easy to miss a few workouts and completely kill your routine.

I'm with you there, bignwv. Technically, something is better than nothing if you want to work out when you'd otherwise miss it. I prefer killing the workout so I will usually let myself take a rest day instead if I know I won't be really able to throw myself into the workout.

mentally yes but if I know I will have time later in the week, I change something up or just do cardio and save the lifting to the next day or whatever. the mental aspect is hard to whip though.

being satisfied with never being satisfied
