Longest time OUT of the gym?

What's the longest you've been out of the gym? I mean like no sporadic visits, totally out. How much size and strength did you lose? I was out for several months when I tore my pec and again when I tore my bicep, but the toughest part of the recovery was getting those muscles back in firing shape. I think it's been a little over two months now and I haven't had the surgery yet. Being as it isn't a tendon repair like the others, I think I'd bounce back pretty quick? What have you guys experienced?
 
I hate to admit this.....I was out for 3 years 3 months....Sad, but it was when I had my neck issues which eventually led to surgery. Still, not proud of that length of time...
 
I was out for almost a year when I broke my arm and actually started lifting while I still had my brace on. I broke my humerus and had a brace instead of a cast so before it was fully healed I started lifting because I couldn't take it anymore. I had already lost about 30-35 pounds and was losing my mind
 
I was out almost 5 years after my shoulder surgery. A lot had to do with me being scared of fucking something else up. I gradually got into the p90x and insanity just to see if I could do them, once I got thru both of them I realized my shoulder was fine and started back lifting. I had gotten up to like 220lb before surgery and after all that time I went to 206 or so then after p90x and insanity down to 186lbs. Then I jumped on a cycle and got back up to 218 and felt awesome. Now im fucking hurt again with my elbows and haven't been in my gym for over a month down to 206lbs, I can gain and lose weight so easily its scary.

Have you gave that Tumeric a try?? It really does help joint issues.... ;)
 
I'm slacking real bad to give my body a rest and it sucks

but I haven't had a break for like 16 years so hopefully it comes back quick
