My outer sweep of my quad has been killing me for a month now. I'll wake up in the middle of the night and feel like someone is stabbing me with a hot knife right in the quad. I normally don't wake up to anything, but this will have me sitting straight up in bed. It'll get really hot and then really cold, it's difficult to walk at some points and then it'll go numb to the touch, but the pain is constant. I'm able to walk and function, but I have to fight through the pain. I hate going to the doc, but this has been going on long enough. I don't know if it's a partial tear or not and wanted to see if anyone had any ideas. It's not bruised like a normal tear is, but I can see broken veins in my leg right where it hurts. I can't see that alone causing the pain, but who knows. I'm thinking that I'll have to break down and get it looked at.

first off, if it was a tear of any kind you would have known as soon as it happened. I have tore each pec twice and my left quad twice. Some where more searious than others, but I knew right away as soon as it happened.

could very well be blood clots, i would run not walk to the doctor if the pain woke me from sleep! Dont mess around bro it could be serious!

I didn't think it was a tear, but I figured if it had been a strain, it would've went away by now. I partially tore my rotator cuff a few years back and like you said, I knew it right away. I just didn't know what it could've been. I guess Presser's right, it could be clots or something. I figured I'd probably need an ultrasound on it if it was something other than a tear or strain. I've only been putting it off because of work and the fact that I hate going to the doc, but I feel like I need to go now before it gets worse. I have a high tolerance for pain, but it's went on long enough. I mean, when I broke my arm, I took absolutely no pain meds other than what they gave me at the ER that day, after that, I took NOTHING. No body believed me, but my gf was there the whole time and saw me take absolutely not a damn bit of the stuff they gave me. I've just always been stubborn when it came to taking meds.

Yea, I hope you're right. I don't want any set backs as I'm just really getting back into a groove from the arm ordeal, that sucked and I lost a TON of strength and size and I'm finally just getting my stride back little by little. It's not kept me from doing anything yet so it's all good at this point, just would like to keep it from getting worse
