Question for the ladies about a lady

My girl wants to know what kind of diet is appropriate for a woman that excerises everyday (squats, lunges, alot of cardio, heavy arm weights). She wants to get cut and strong without losing her muscle, not bigger.  I told her to eat alot of protien, but i wasnt sure what the #### to tell her about carbs and fat.
