Rack Pulls...

Did this today.. started off with with rack pulls for 2 sets, then removed the pins and did 2 sets of deads.

I think I'm gonna keep doing it this way and see if my strength in the top of the movement improves. I feel that starting out with racks lets my upper back and traps get worked as heavy as possible, and then moving on to deads for more lower back and "finishing" the rest.

Not a bad idea, but when I do rack pulls, I go balls out. I'm so exhausted after them that I sometimes question whether or not I wanna end it right there.

Understandable. I might add that I didn't do the deads to failure. I stopped 1-2 rep short of failure.. did 3 reps when I could've done 4 or 5. Really just focusing on form.. not going quite as far back at the top as I did with the pulls.

Do you get a pump in your lower back from rack pulls? I don't, and that's another reason I do deads after, which really makes my lower back scream.

Yea, I get a nice pump in my lower back, traps and hams. Not to mention my forearms will be throbbing which makes me not wanna do anymore back exercises as I can't really hold much weight or pull much weight. I will do barbell rows and pulldowns as well as dumbbell rows and all of these become quite interesting when my grip strength is fatigued
