Starting over with squats

I know this may sound odd coming from me, but I wanted to rethink and relearn my body to squats and other leg movements. Just trying to make the legs grow, and going back to the basic's and acting like it was day one. I did this yesterday, only started with 135, and didnt go more than 185lbs, and my legs have never been this sore in a long time.

I did a similar thing two weeks ago. Didnt go over 225 and I was sore for 6 full days. Day 3 I could hardly walk.

I've done that in the past. If you can take the shot to the ego, it doesn't take much weight to really smoke them on a movement like squats. It takes alot of concentration

Smart move I think Nuk. I think anything that puts a new or different stress on a muscle should cause it to respond favorably.

Well said bro! And Nuk nuk what kind of sets and reps did you do with this?

If I squat at all any more its at or towards the end of a leg workout. I used to squat 600lbs when I was playing football in college. That weight took its toll on my back (among other things), so I only go up to 225. Anything heavier than that, and my back is jacked up big time. Doing them at the end still allows me to do the movement without having to use heavy weight to really feel them.

Listen to your body (I dont) About 2 years ago I was doing a routine with heavy squats. My right hip started to
bother me pretty bad. Layed of and just been doing presses. Well, watching buddy do squats couple weeks ago
and got the itch. Worked in a few lighter sets. Felt good. Next leg day started upping the weight. My hip started
to hurt and what did I do? I threw on some more fking weight. No pain no gain. LOL... Couldnt walk without pain for
abot 2 weeks. I think I wlll start throwing them in slowly this time. Like sets of 50 with just the bar. I am the biggest
advice giver about "listening to your body" and the worst one at doing it. lol

Anything that'll produce results is worth a try and I think you'll respond well to this. I guess time will tell for you though
