Samir Bannout Recalls 1990 Olympia Drug Testing: ‘I Failed the Test’

The landscape of bodybuilding has transformed significantly over the last few decades with some major changes in competition. In a recent episode of The Muscle Maturity podcast, former Mr. Olympia Samir Bannout and John Hansen recalled the 1990 Olympia drug testing and the effects it had on the participants.
Steroids have been a part of bodybuilding since the early days. From legendary competitor Arnold Schwarzenegger to modern mass monster Jay Cutler, synthetic substances have contributed to the success of many bodybuilders. Although it is widely accepted in the community, there have been calls to push back against its rampant use.
Seven-time Mr. Olympia Arnold opened up on the relatively low consumption of steroids during his days of competing on stage. He argued that contemporary athletes use drugs in massive quantities, which in turn, puts their health at risk. It could also lead to an unrealistic perception of a healthy physique, potentially influencing fitness enthusiasts to use steroids as well. Schwarzenegger highlighted the problem of some competitors taking higher amounts of gear to get an advantage over others who may not consume as high of a dose.
Four-time Mr. Olympia Cutler gave his take on the heated topic last May. He admitted he may have abused drugs such as testosterone in prep for shows. He believes steroids are an unavoidable part of the game and dismissed the validity of incorporating drug tests since competitors tend to find a way around it. He recommends cycling on and off substances based on the goal. He prefers taking certain things to bulk up or to lean out.
There have been concerns surrounding the side effects of using steroids. Being one of the few competitors to stay healthy post-retirement, Cutler revealed he didn’t suffer from roid rage and continues to maintain a high level of fitness without many consequences.

Legendary competitor Robby Robinson reflected on his experience with steroids during his nearly three-decade-long career last November. He confessed to not knowing about anabolic steroids before he made it to the Pro League. He was under the assumption other athletes were simply blessed with great genetics and couldn’t fathom the idea of synthetic compounds being involved.
Fitness influencer Liver King drew a lot of criticism after getting exposed for using steroids. While he’s not a pro bodybuilder, the change in his physique after quitting steroids for a week was evident in a physique update earlier this year.
Men’s Open sensation William Bonac suffered damage to his kidneys while getting ready for contests. Since he was using steroid cycles in prep, he couldn’t consume the medicine he needed to reduce the inflammation in his kidneys. Following the 2022 Mr. Olympia, he stopped taking oral steroids while in prep for the 2023 Arnold Classic.
Samir Bannout Recalls 1990 Olympia Drug Testing
In a recent YouTube video, Samir Bannout and John Hansen shared their thoughts on the drug testing policy for the 1990 Mr. Olympia event, where eight-time winner Lee Haney emerged as the champion.

Bannout explained how the delay in test results could lead to a change in title and prize money. He referenced the overturning of Mike Ashley’s win at the 1990 Arnold Classic.
“I was one of the guys that failed the test,” said Bannout. “At the time, a doctor told me to take a short acting testosterone which is actually called masterone. He said it was androgen and this is what I got caught for. Mike actually won the prize, he ended up getting the 50 grand from Shawn Ray. That’s the first year they tested. The results came out a week later.”
Hansen chimed in with his take on why the Weiders felt it necessary to drug test athletes. He also reasoned why the testing was discontinued the next year.
“The Weiders were always worried about the public image of bodybuilding,” said Hansen. “They said the steroid scandal, the general public’s thoughts about steroids is getting worse and worse every year so we need to do something. Ben Weider’s goal was always to get bodybuilding in the Olympics. He knew that it would never get in the Olympics if it had the steroid stigma attached to it.”
“First of all, I think because the tests weren’t really accurate,” he added. “Some guys passed who looked like they were on. Mostly I think it was because the guys who were in the show didn’t look as good at all, not nearly as good. I think they were afraid of losing their audience.”
Kai Greene advised upcoming competitors to focus on building their natural talents and reaching their natural peak before going for steroids. He revealed he competed as a natty for over 15 years and considers TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) a steroid as well.
Retired bodybuilder Zack Khan highlighted the focus on becoming a mass monster last week. He believes social media plays a big role in persuading athletes to use crazy doses of steroids, something he noticed doing the era of eight-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman.
The prevalence of steroids has proven to be a hot topic in the sport and it appears the debate regarding its use and side effects continues to rage on as Samir Bannout and John Hansen offered their experiences.

Many bodybuilders are increasingly getting obsessed with drinking breast milk. Yes, you read that right. What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you notice a grown man or woman taking breast milk meant for babies? Well, however, yuckish that mind sound, bodybuilders who have discovered its secret don’t care about naysayers. Supplemental breast milk comes with many fitness benefits only bodybuilders can explain.

But why human milk? Scientists and fitness experts have been scratching their heads to try and answer this. And although there isn’t sufficient data to support breast milk’s effectiveness in enhancing muscle growth, users have some positive results. In this article, we will try to find out the possible reasons bodybuilders have resorted to taking breast milk as a supplement.
What Science Says
It is important to note that breast milk is the most complex, nutrient-rich food for babies for all mammals. Babies derive many benefits from breast milk, including immune-boosting sugars and development nutrients. No wonder every bodybuilder wants a piece of this magical natural product to have the edge over their opponent. Breast milk has no side effects, unlike other synthetic products bodybuilders use as supplements.

The formula has been known to promote development in bodybuilders, just like it does babies. Bodybuilders will go to any length to build muscle and strength. There is a notion that bodybuilders are selective about the kinds of foods they take, and it is for the right reasons. It is not every meal you take that helps you to achieve your fitness goals. Importantly, bodybuilders must watch out for their diet lest they consume something that reaches the opposite of what they want as far as fitness is concerned.
Benefits of Supplemental Breast Milk to A Bodybuilder
There is a significant amount of protein in breast milk. It is one of the best sources of protein for athletes and bodybuilders. Bodybuilders take breast milk because it increases muscle growth, helps with recovery, and contains a lot of protein. Breast milk comprises between 50 and 60 percent water, 25 to 35 percent carbohydrates, and 10 to 15 percent protein.

It also contains fat, which is mainly in the form of triglycerides (which are a type of fat). It has plenty of vitamins and minerals that are important for bodybuilders. Breast milk also has immune-boosting properties that help fight bacteria and pathogens in the human body. While it is not as easy as a shake, breast milk can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 72 hours.
It is a good idea to store it if you are on vacation and need to keep fit. The B vitamin, niacin, is also in breast milk. It helps absorb other B vitamins in the body, and it helps fight off infections. The amount of protein in this milk is a significant part of what makes it a valuable source for bodybuilders. The amount of protein in breast milk is also essential to bodybuilders because they need a lot of protein in their diets.

Preparing Supplemental Breast Milk At Home
If you’re going to prepare breast milk at home, then it is much easier than buying it from the store. To make a protein shake, mix 10-12 ounces (3/4 to 1 cup) of breast milk in one blender container with 15-20 ice cubes. Add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 6-8 ounces of your favorite fruit juice (fruit or vegetable). Blend until smooth. You can also replace the fruit juice with water or soy milk, but you lose the nutritional benefits that come with breast milk.
Oprah Winfrey’s Take on Supplemental breast milk
Oprah Winfrey famously drinks a cup of breast milk daily, claiming it helps her sleep better and improves her skin. Some say that eating foods from animal sources such as meat, dairy, and eggs is bad for you because they contain cholesterol, saturated fats, and high omega-6 fatty acids. However, it is no secret that these products are, in fact, quite nutritious and healthy for the bodybuilder. When switching to a vegan diet to lose fat or enhance physical performance, athletes must carefully consider their intake of vitamins A, D, B12, and C.
Breast Milk Vs. Regular Supplements
Regular supplements are often extracted, purified, and concentrated on offering a high dosage of their key ingredient. The downside of this is that they don’t always provide the benefits associated with the original food. As an example, red wine contains antioxidants known to promote heart health. However, most red wine supplements are synthetic and have such a low concentration of these antioxidants that you need to drink about ten bottles for the same effect as one bottle of regular red wine.

When combining multiple supplements, it’s essential to consider that many of these substances have different effects (see the “When You Shouldn’t Take It” section below). Certain supplements may also interfere with each other. For example, some people find that they can exercise better when taking creatine along with the amino acid L-arginine. However, others find that this combination causes a headache. In general, it would be best not to accept these two supplements.
The Downside of Regular Supplements
Supplements are a great way to help bodybuilders reach their goals. However, there are some disadvantages to some supplements for bodybuilders. For example, there could be side effects from using these supplements. It is essential to research what the side effects might be before starting a supplement. It is not always necessary to use supplements to get the nutrients you need in your diet. Eating at least five servings of fruits and vegetables daily will get all the vitamins and minerals your body needs.
Some supplements may be necessary for bodybuilders, others could improve their performance, and others are just for fun. Some joint supplements for bodybuilders include creatine, protein powders and bars, glutamine, BCAA’s or leucine-enrichened proteins/whey products, multivitamins, and supplements for testosterone.
The main disadvantage of supplements is that they may contain harmful ingredients or too much of a particular nutrient. For example, creatine has been shown to cause liver damage in doses higher than the recommended daily allowance, so it is best to use it only when necessary. Other side effects could be allergic reactions or infections from bacteria found in supplements. Researching the potential side effects before taking any supplement is a good idea if you are going to use the supplement.
Breast Milk in The Black Market

Supplemental breast milk is sold for $1.50 per ounce, a popular item on the black market. Breast milk in the black market is a relatively new phenomenon. It started with the rise of the internet and social media, which made it easier for mothers to connect.
It’s a booming business that has been fueled by increasing demand from parents who are unable to breastfeed their children or by those who want to try out breastfeeding before they commit to it .” Due to the high demand, breast milk is now being sold in online marketplaces and real-life stores,” says Caroline Dyas, Senior Lecturer of Sociology at Goldsmiths College. “From a sociological perspective, there are many reasons why people buy or sell breast milk.”Breastfeeding rates worldwide have been steadily increasing as more mothers choose not to use formula because they believe it has adverse health effects.

Formula companies have responded by creating products that mimic the effects of breast milk, and as a result, demand for human milk has increased. The trade-in breast milk is also driven by the rise of “natural parenting” – a movement emphasizing breastfeeding over formula feeding. These mothers believe professional support and resources are insufficient to enable parents to breastfeed their children exclusively. “Women who want to get into the business often have difficulty finding lactating donors,” explains Dyas. “As a result, it’s straightforward for these.
Is Breast Milk Legal?
In the United States, buying or selling human breast milk is illegal, but providing breast milk for free is not unlawful. Women can be paid by companies that make formulas and baby food in exchange for their donated breast milk. Organizations like the Human Milk Banking Association of North America and Mothers’ Milk Bank of North Dakota have helped establish banks around the US where women can donate their excess breast milk without penalty.Breast milk is often donated for research in Japan because it is considered a superfood. To prevent breast milk from being in short supply, many women are attempting to donate their milk. This has created a market for human milk and its derivatives, such as infant formula, developed or improved over time by companies such as Nestle and Mead Johnson.

Overall
Breast milk is an excellent source of nutrients and is much better for bodybuilders than cow’s milk. The advantages of breast milk to bodybuilders are many. Breast milk contains the perfect balance of protein, fat, and carbohydrates, making it an excellent post-workout drink. It also has all the essential vitamins and minerals that your body needs to recover from a strenuous workout.
Supplemental breast milk is not just for kids. The protein in breast milk can help build muscles in adults too. Although there are other ways to get protein, it’s still a good option for lactose-intolerant bodybuilders or those who don’t like meat products. It is not uncommon for people to have intestinal issues when they eat meat. They may also think it’s easier to avoid meat altogether and give their bodies a break from saturated fat. With this in mind, breast milk has a much lower impact on the body and often includes less saturated fat than meats.
A theory exists that consuming these foods may allow the body to produce more human growth hormone (HGH), thereby increasing muscle and lean body mass in the short term. There is no scientific evidence to support this claim, however.

Kali Muscle: Bodybuilders Are ‘So Caught Up’ In Drugs, They Don’t Think About the late Cedric McMillan and Shawn Rhoden

Kali Muscle: Bodybuilders Are ‘So Caught Up’ In Drugs, They Don’t Think About the late Cedric McMillan and Shawn Rhoden

Online fitness sensation Chuck “Kali Muscle” Kirkendall continues to warn against the dangers of professional bodybuilding. During a recent video, Kali shared that bodybuilders are too fixated on drugs and appeasing judges rather than preserving their health for the long term. In 2021, the sport of bodybuilding saw more athletes than usual pass away. The 2018 Mr. Olympia winner Shawn Rhoden died from suspected heart problems as well as George Peterson, whose body was found in his hotel room two days before performing at last year’s Olympia.  The concerning trend from last year appeared to bleed into 2022. A slew of influential figures in the sport lost their lives over the past several months like former Arnold Classic winner Cedric McMillan, 46-year-old judge Jerry Ward, and German IFBB Pro Andreas Frey. Kali also suffered a near-death experience last November after having a heart attack. Ever since the scary ordeal, he’s been on a mission to promote health awareness in bodybuilding. In light of the growing number of deaths, Kali Muscle has been far more vocal about steroids and other dangers present in the sport. At first, his message was simple: ‘if you’re a bodybuilder, then you’re risking your life.’ Though, as time went on, his tone became more serious. He reiterated in August that bodybuilders have now become test dummies who continually risk their lives. In one of his latest videos, Kali Muscle gave an honest take on why he chose not to pursue a pro career. Kali Muscle says He’d Be Dead if He Pursued Pro Bodybuilding CareerThe popular fitness personality specified that he wouldn’t be here today if he pursued a pro career in bodybuilding.“I’m glad I didn’t go Pro bro, I’d been dead. Just being honest. I’m glad I had enough sense when I saw the list of what [drugs] to take, then I was like, ‘nah, I’m cool.’ I knew at that point, there’s just something in your spirit that tells you. You know what I mean.”  Kali added that bodybuilders who are ‘caught up’ in drugs, ‘don’t hear’ or heed the warnings from himself, Shawn Rhoden, and Cedric McMillan.“If you’re caught up in it, you’re caught up in it. You don’t hear Kali Muscle, Shawn Rhoden, Cedric [McMillan], like ‘oh that ain’t going to happen to me.’ I wasn’t like that. I was really conscious of injuries and having health problems. That’s why I would get off [drugs]. Like most people, they wouldn’t get off. I would get off three months out of the year,” Kali Muscle shared. In addition to the aforementioned concerns, Kali Muscle shared that life as a bodybuilder is ‘nonstop’ and the sacrifices aren’t worth the financial rewards. “I didn’t go Pro as a bodybuilder. I’m like, ‘it’s nonstop.’ A judge is like, ‘oh I want your legs 40 inches,’ and those motherfuc**rs are doing what they got to do to get it. I ain’t never been no fuc**ng sheep or pawn, letting another fat fu** man as judge telling me how I’m supposed to get my body for hardly no money.” “Bro, $400,000! Bro, he [Mr. Olympia winners] had to spend $6 million to get $400,000,” Kali Muscle said. “None of these guys got their own supplement companies or nothing. Jay [Cutler] and Ronnie [Coleman] are the only ones.” Cedric McMillan at Arnold ClassicKali isn’t the only prominent voice in the fitness community warning against bodybuilding drugs. Earlier this week, former 1983 Mr. Olympia Samir Bannout discussed bodybuilding legend Ronnie Coleman’s 2001 dehydration health scare. Bannout added that even for experienced coaches, dialing in dehydration a week before a bodybuilding contest can be deadly. The last time fans heard from Kali he was at the hospital for over two days undergoing a series of health screenings. During the visit, he underlined that it’s not just steroids killing bodybuilders but excessive amounts of food too. He said he ‘felt sorry’ for popular names in the sport like 2021 Arnold Classic champion Nick Walker and rising IFBB Pro Andrew Jacked.Kali Muscle is urging athletes to prioritize their health before it’s too late. He hopes his recent dialogue will help promote safer bodybuilding practices moving forward. Watch the full video below:RELATED: Kali Muscle and Big Boy Gets In Altercation After Getting Kicked Out Of Gold’s Venice (VIDEO)

Turinabol vs Anavar: Which is the Better Steroid?

Turinabol vs Anavar: Which is the Better Steroid?

Disclaimer: The following article is for educational purposes only and NOT to promote the use of illegal steroids. If you have any questions or concerns, Dr. Touliatos is currently available for consultations.

Turinabol (Chlorodehydromethyltestosterone) and Anavar (Oxandrolone) are oral anabolic steroids, commonly used by bodybuilders and athletes for a competitive edge.
Anavar and Turinabol are relatively similar in relation to how they affect body composition, despite obvious differences in chemical structure.
Turinabol is a derivative of Methandrostenolone (Dianabol), hence its nickname ‘baby dbol’. Meanwhile, Anavar is a DHT (dihydrotestosterone) derivative.

Muscle and Strength Gains
Anavar and Turinabol are considered relatively mild compounds in the anabolic steroid family tree. However, their benefits in terms of muscular hypertrophy and strength are far from mild.
Turinabol is the superior steroid for building mass, with it generally considered a lean bulking steroid. Anavar however, is predominantly taken during cutting cycles; with it building less mass vs Turinabol.
Beginners typically gain >15lbs of lean muscle on Turinabol from a 6-week cycle. On Anavar, novices can expect to build up to 10-12lbs.
Anavar and Turinabol are both potent strength-enhancing compounds, which is surprising to some considering both of these compounds do not aromatize, and thus weight gain is not excessive.
Fat Loss
Neither compound will cause any weight loss, due to simultaneous muscle growth.
However, both compounds will cause reductions in subcutaneous fat mass, whilst limiting water retention.
Turinabol burns moderate amounts of fat directly, simply by being a form of exogenous testosterone (a fat-burning hormone). Tbol makes for a suitable cutting steroid for some users, due to its ability to inhibit extracellular water retention; and thus maximize muscle definition.
Anavar is a unique anabolic steroid in relation to fat loss, due to it having a stimulative effect on Triiodothyronine (T3) levels (1). T3 is the active thyroid hormone that significantly increases lipolysis (fat loss).
Anavar increases T3 by inhibiting TBG (thyroid-binding globulin) and elevating TBP (thyroxine-binding prealbumin). This process effectively increases the conversion of T4 to T3. This is good news for bodybuilders, as T4 (Thyroxine) is the inactive thyroid hormone, and T3 is the hormone that stimulates fat loss.
Anabolic steroids, including Turinabol, decrease subcutaneous fat, but increase visceral fat. This is why bodybuilders, despite being lean, can have bloated-looking midsections.
Anavar is the exception to this rule, reducing both subcutaneous and visceral fat mass; via the improvement of insulin sensitivity (2).
Thus, male and female bodybuilders may experience greater overall fat loss on Anavar (vs Turinabol), especially in the midsection—due to a decrease in VF.
However, it should be noted that Turinabol and Anavar’s anabolic attributes outweigh their ability to induce fat loss.
Turinabol for Women
Very few anabolic steroids are taken by women for fear of virilization effects occurring. Side effects when taking androgenic anabolic steroids include:

Deepened voice
Clitoral enlargement
Hair growth (body)
Androgen-induced alopecia
Jaw hypertrophy
Laryngeal prominence (Adam’s Apple) enlargement.

However, females have experienced great success with preventing the above side effects on Turinabol and Anavar, when taken in conservative dosages.
This may not come as a surprise when considering the initial motivations for creating each of these anabolic steroids. With Anavar, scientists attempted to formulate a compound that promoted anabolism in patients suffering from cachexia (muscle-wasting); including men, women and children. Thus, it was their intention for Anavar to be free from masculinizing effects.
German scientists created Turinabol with the intention of helping their nation become an Olympic super force. Female gymnasts and swimmers were known to have utilized Tbol, thus to reduce any suspicions of foul play, it was in the doctor’s interests to synthesize a compound that would allow women to retain their feminine attributes.
A typical Anavar cycle for beginner female bodybuilders can look as follows:

Going above 10mg/day or/and extending cycles beyond 5-6 weeks will increase the chances of masculinization.
A typical Turinabol cycle for beginner female bodybuilders can look as follows:

Such low dosages are unlikely to cause secondary sex characteristics in women. However, they are high enough to cause notable increases in muscle hypertrophy, strength and fat loss.
Abuse of Turinabol in the form of high dosages or extended cycles (past 5-6 weeks) will increase the risk of masculinization.
Side Effects
Turinabol and Anavar are among the best steroids in regards to safety. Although all anabolic steroids cause a negative impact on a user’s overall health, these two compounds are of the least destructive.
Liver
Mild hepatotoxicity is to be expected on Anavar and Turinabol, considering they are both c-17 alpha-alkylated compounds. Consequently, ALT (alanine aminotransferase) and AST (aspartate aminotransferase) scores will rise moderately.
For most bodybuilders, this is rarely problematic, due to the resilience of the liver and its self-rejuvenating properties. However, those with existing or previous liver issues (and individuals taking hepatotoxic medications) should avoid all oral anabolic steroids.
Heart
Cardiovascular health is negatively affected by all anabolic steroids; however, Turinabol and Anavar are among the least cardiotoxic.
This is quite unique for oral steroids, which typically have harsher effects on cholesterol, due to their stimulation of hepatic lipase; a liver enzyme that negatively affects HDL cholesterol.
Anadrol, Dianabol, Superdrol and Winstrol are some examples of particularly cardiotoxic oral steroids. However, Turinabol and Anavar’s mild nature reduces the risk of hypertension.
Note: Those will elevated blood pressure or cardiomyopathy in their family should avoid all anabolic steroids.
Testosterone Suppression
Temporary endogenous testosterone suppression is certain when taking any anabolic steroid.
The extent of which can be moderate, or a complete shutdown of the HPTA (hypothalamus-pituitary-testicular axis).
In Anavar and Turinabol’s case, a moderate drop in testosterone can be experienced by users, with testosterone levels often recovering to natural peak levels several weeks post-cycle.
This recovery process is likely to take place in 30 days or less when using an effective PCT (post-cycle therapy).
Excessive use of anabolic steroid substances, without taking ample time off in between cycles, is likely to delay endogenous testosterone recovery.
Hair Loss
Some claim that Anavar does not cause hair loss, as the 5-alpha reductase enzyme is not present, causing Anavar to possess a low androgenic rating of 25.
However, Anavar is a derivative of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), the hormone responsible for hair follicle miniaturization on the scalp.
Thus, it is common for men and women to complain of thinning of the hair during cycles. This can often reverse post-cycle when DHT levels return to normal; however, regular cycles and a personal predisposition to male pattern baldness may accelerate hair loss in the long-term on Anavar.
Turinabol, however, is a derivative of Methandrostenolone (Dianabol) which has very low androgenicity, and is not a DHT-derived steroid. Thus, Turinabol would be the safer steroid to take, in regards to preserving hair thickness and preventing recession.
Conclusion: Which is the Better Steroid?
Some bodybuilders may consider Turinabol the better steroid if their priority is to build lean muscle mass, as Tbol will add a few more pounds of lean muscle vs Anavar.
However, Anavar is the more optimal steroid for cutting, due to its lipolytic (fat-burning) effects being more prominent.
In terms of safety and side effects, both steroids are very similar, having a mild nature in contrast to other anabolic steroids.

Turinabol vs Dianabol: Which is the Better Steroid?

Turinabol vs Dianabol: Which is the Better Steroid?

Turinabol (Chlorodehydromethyltestosterone) and Dianabol (Methandrostenolone) are very similar anabolic steroids from a chemical perspective, with Turinabol being a derivative of Dianabol.
The only difference on paper is that Turinabol possesses an additional 4-chloro alteration of clostebol.
The objective of German scientists, when creating Turinabol, was to create a compound that replicated the anabolic effects of Dianabol (in terms of muscle hypertrophy and strength); but without the estrogenic effects (fluid retention and gynecomastia).
The purpose of Turinabol’s creation was to give German Olympic swimmers and gymnasts an advantage over their competition.
Due to its similar chemical structure to Dianabol, Turinabol is commonly referred to by bodybuilders as ‘baby Dbol’.

Muscle and Strength Gains
Scientists successfully created a compound (Turinabol) that mimicked the anabolic effects of Dianabol, but without the estrogenic side effects.
In theory, Turinabol should build notably less amounts of muscle mass, with a lower anabolic rating of 54 vs Dianabol’s 210.
However, in practice, bodybuilders often report building a similar amount of lean muscle mass as Dianabol. Although the overall weight gain is more prominent on Dbol due to increased water retention.
Turinabol is the more mild compound on a mg per mg basis, with bodybuilders typically using it in dosages of 40-80mg/day vs Dianabol’s 30-50mg/day. Thus, a higher dosage of Turinabol is required in order to see similar anabolic effects to Dianabol.
A beginner steroid user taking a standard dose of Turinabol is likely to gain up to 15lbs of weight from a 6-8 week cycle. Almost all of this weight will be in the form of lean muscle tissue.
However, a novice taking Dianabol may gain over 20lbs from a 6-week cycle. The majority of this will be muscle mass; however, 20-30% can be attributed to water accumulation.
Both of these anabolic steroids will significantly increase muscular strength. However, Dianabol is likely to be superior in this regard, with it causing notable amounts of intracellular water retention—aiding adenosine triphosphate (ATP) energy production.
However, strength gains on Turinabol are not to be underestimated, with a 1973 report detailing a female shot put athlete increasing her throwing distance by 2 meters in 11 weeks on a dose of 10mg/day (1).
Thus, Dianabol and Turinabol can both be used during bulking cycles; however, Dbol may be the superior compound for sheer mass gain in the short term. Whereas Turinabol is more suitable for bodybuilders trying to lean bulk, whilst remaining as lean and aesthetic-looking as possible.
It is worth noting that results on Dianabol may be obtained notably faster than Turinabol, due to Dbol containing shorter esters and possessing a shorter half-life (3-6 hours vs Tbol’s 16 hours).
Fat Loss
Dianabol is almost always utilized in bulking cycles; however, Turinabol is utilized in both bulking and cutting cycles.
This is due to Turinabol failing to aromatize, rather than it having more potent lipolytic effects. Thus, the actual amount of subcutaneous fat loss will be similar between the two steroids, but users will appear to be leaner on Turinabol, due to less extracellular water retention (and bloating).
Consequently, muscle definition will be more visible and vascularity more prominent on Tbol.
There is a case that Turinabol users may burn increased fat stores indirectly; due to its exceptional endurance-boosting capabilities. In such an instance, calorie expenditure is likely to increase, maximizing fat loss.
Therefore, if someone takes Turinabol and regularly performs cardio, they may burn more fat vs the same person taking Dianabol.
Dianabol actually worsens cardiovascular performance due to it having a deleterious effect on blood lipids. This can also decrease the likelihood that a user will perform regular cardio, as well as negatively affecting cardio workouts; effectively reducing calorie expenditure.
Furthermore, users are more likely to be ingesting fewer calories when cycling Turinabol, with it being viewed as a lean bulking agent, or even a cutting agent. Thus, a correlational relationship between fat loss and Turinabol may also exist.
Side Effects (Safety)
Liver Health
Both Turinabol and Dianabol are oral anabolic steroids and thus c-17 alpha-alkylated. Therefore, ALT (alanine aminotransferase) and AST (aspartate aminotransferase) enzymes will rise on both compounds—signifying liver inflammation.
However, Turinabol’s hepatotoxicity is believed to be less. Consequently, users sometimes report their appetite being strong on Turinabol, but reduced on Dianabol.
This is because when the liver is overtaxed, the body’s defence mechanism is to reduce food consumption, to reduce the workload on the organ.
Although Turinabol may be safer than Dianabol from a hepatic perspective, it is important users don’t become complacent with this fact. Dr. O’Connor once oversaw a patient develop peliosis hepatis, as a result of taking Turinabol for up to 2 years (without a break).
Thus, Turinabol cycles should be kept to 6-8 weeks, and Dianabol cycles 4-6 weeks to prevent hepatic damage. TUDCA (tauroursodeoxycholic acid) can also be taken at 500mg/day to protect the liver on-cycle (2).
Gynecomastia and Water Retention
Turinabol does not aromatize and thus gynecomastia and water retention are not experienced by users, which is contrary to Dianabol usage.
This may be comforting to some bodybuilders, considering the irreversible nature of gynecomastia (without surgery); at least when experienced in the more severe, latter stages.
Testosterone Suppression
Dianabol may cause more impairment to the HPTA (Hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular axis) than Turinabol, causing lower endogenous testosterone levels.
Consequently, Dianabol may require a more effective post-cycle therapy protocol than Turinabol; such as Clomid and Nolvadex combined, vs just one medication.
Cardiovascular Health
HDL (high-density lipoprotein) and LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol are likely to be more negatively affected by Dianabol, increasing the risk of atherosclerosis.
Hypertension is more of a risk on Dianabol, due to increased blood viscosity (a byproduct of the body retaining more H2o).
Turinabol will also cause an increase in blood pressure, albeit a more modest one.
Oral steroids such as Turinabol and Dianabol are unsuitable for individuals with poor cardiovascular health, due to orals passing through the liver and stimulating hepatic lipase. This enzyme has a reductive effect on low-density lipoprotein and thus increases the risk of myocardial infarction.
Bodybuilders can also lower their cardiovascular risk by taking 4g/day of fish oil, eating a low-sodium diet and performing regular cardio.
Acne and Hair Loss
Acne vulgaris and male pattern baldness are less likely to occur on Turinabol, which has an even lower androgen rating than Dianabol (0 vs 40-60).
Thus, DHT (dihydrotestosterone) levels will be less on Turinabol and the sebaceous glands will be less stimulated.
Benign prostate enlargement also will be less of an issue on Turinabol, due to decreased androgenicity.
However, it is worth noting that Dianabol itself is not overly androgenic (which were Dr. Ziegler’s intentions when formulating it); thus androgenic side effects are unlikely to be harsh.
Muscular Endurance
All anabolic steroids should increase muscular endurance in theory, due to an increase in exogenous testosterone and red blood cell production.
However, because of spikes in blood pressure and liver damage, energy and blood flow can become compromised—affecting muscular endurance.
Thus, compounds like Turinabol have an excellent balance of spiking serum testosterone to high levels, whilst minimizing excessive cardiotoxicity and hepatotoxicity.
Suitability for Women
Dianabol is known to cause virilization in women. In contrast, Turinabol is better tolerated by females, due to less androgenicity.
Female Olympic athletes did not experience virilization in the first few years of Turinabol-use. Consequently, many female bodybuilders have successfully utilized Tbol in small dosages.
Various German Olympic women did experience masculinization effects after the initial first few years of Turinabol-use. However, the reasons for such may be due to not cycling off and the presence of other virilizing anabolic steroids in their systems — such as testosterone esters and Deca Durabolin (which were commonly cycled alongside Turinabol in the 1970s).
Conclusion
Turinabol replicates many of Dianabol’s benefits, but with reduced toxicity.
Bodybuilders commonly report building similar amounts of lean muscle on Turinabol vs Dianabol, and with decreased fluctuations in size.
It is common for Dianabol-users to blow up faster, but then lose some hypertrophy during cycle cessation (due to water loss).
Endurance athletes and those who regularly perform cardio will also be benefited from Turinabol, due to its non-aromatizing nature (preventing excessive weight gain).
Women are also more suited to cycling Turinabol, which is one of the few female-friendly anabolic steroids available today.

10 Dwarf Bodybuilders Giving Pros A Run for Their Money

Indeed, no human is limited and people have gone to great lengths to prove it in every sector. Bodybuilding as a sport is thought to be a reserve for a few people whos bodies are naturally big and strong. But this is not always the case, many people without this natlural trait have ended up becoming some enviable bodybuilders. In this article, we are going to look at dwarf bodybuilders who are killing it at the gym and giving pros a run for their money.Anton KraftFirst on our list iks this pound-for-pound bodybuilder who boasts of being the only bodybuilder dto lift four times his weight. That technically makes him the stongest man in the world. The 4’4′ dwarf hails from Florida and is dating China Bell, a 6’3′ model, their physical difference not withstanding.Kraft has lifted as much as 36 tons to claim the title of the strongest man in the world. What myou might know about Anton Kraft is that he s very choosy about the kind of women he dates. He has stated that he only dates women who are at least one foot taller than him.Pratik MohitePrank Mohite, an Indian bodybuilder, holds the record of the shortest competitive bodybuilder in the world. The bodybuilder in his late 20s has won several awards in the district, state, country, and international level. Mohite is only 4’3′ in height and holds the Guiness World Record as the shortest competitive bodubuilder. His young age suggests that he has a lot more to achieve if he keeps the same momentum.Unlike many dwafs, Pratik was born with incredibly short limbs compared to his other body parts. However, this did not blurr his vision of becoming one of the most successful bodybuilders in hlistory. However, watching his brother workout motivated him to start building his strength as a teenager. He overcame a lot of dissing and ridicule from friends and village mates, but that did not stop him from working out to become one of the bejst in the Indian subc-continent and the world.Lee ListonAnother incredlibly ripped bodybuilder, Lee Liston is giving bodybuilders of tall and average height bodybuilders a run for their money. He was also a victim of trolls but that did not stop him from beating otherwise ‘normal’ bodybuiders to have enviable muscles. A resident o Utah, Lee did not start working out late and now does six excercises a week. His love for building muscle is the main motivation his gym addiction.Lee’s workout strategies revolve around remaining lean while building muscle. This is something most bodybuilders are struggling with. He has to work harder than everyone else because he also suffers from achondroplasia, a type of dwarfism that affects bones. His short stature means he has to move weights a shorter distance unlike other bodybuilders.Jeremy SmithJeremy’s love for bodybuildling started when he was still in high school. He has not looked back since and continues to be a force to reckon with as far as weightlifting is concerned. At only 4’5′, Jeremy weighs 132 pounds and can lift more weights in proportion to his weight more than most bodybuilders. For instance, he can pess nearly 350 pounds, not to mention about 750 squat.Sometimes khis weights have to be modified to accomodate his size but that doesn’t change the fact that he does more weights than most pros. This adjustment has been the source of trolling but he doesn’t give them much thought, choosing to concentrate on his workouts, instead. His Instagram has more than 70k subscribers and he often posts motivational and workout videos to encourage and entertain his audience. He has had many successes in the field despite his dwarfism. At 4’5′, Jason is one of the few bodybuilders who can lift more than twice their own weight. His prowess in weightlifting has earned him the nickpname ‘Mini Arnie’, after the legendary actor and weightlifter Arnold Schwarzenneger.Despite his tight schdule as worker in bars in Essex and Surrey, he still squeezes in two hours a day to work out. He also participates in bodybuilding competitions, both local and internationally, where he has won several awards.

Supplemental Breast Milk for Bodybuilders: The Secret Behind It

Supplemental Breast Milk for Bodybuilders: The Secret Behind It

It has plenty of vitamins and minerals that are important for infants. Breast milk also has immune-boosting properties that help fight bacteria and pathogens in the human body. While it is not as easy as a shake, breast milk can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 72 hours.
It is a good idea to store it if you are on vacation. The B vitamin, niacin, is also in breast milk. It helps absorb other B vitamins in the body, and it helps fight off infections. The amount of protein in this milk is a significant part of what makes it a valuable source for bodybuilders. The amount of protein in breast milk is also essential to infants because they need a lot of protein in their diets.

Preparing Supplemental Breast Milk At Home
Breast milk is an excellent source of nutrients and is much better for bodybuilders than cow’s milk. The advantages of breast milk to bodybuilders are many. Breast milk contains the perfect balance of protein, fat, and carbohydrates, making it an excellent post-workout drink. It also has all the essential vitamins and minerals that your body needs to recover from a strenuous workout.

When combining multiple supplements, it’s essential to consider that many of these substances have different effects when combined (see the “When You Shouldn’t Take It” section below).
If you eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables daily, you will get all the vitamins and minerals your body needs.

Supplemental breast milk is currently sold for $1.50 per ounce, a popular item on the black market.
These mothers believe professional support and available resources are insufficient to enable parents to breastfeed their children exclusively. “Women who want to get into the business often have difficulty finding lactating donors,” explains Dyas. “As a result, it’s straightforward for these.
Is Breast Milk Legal?
In the United States, buying or selling human breast milk is illegal, but it is not unlawful to provide breast milk for free. This has led to creation of a market for human milk and its derivatives, such as infant formula, which have been developed or improved over time by companies such as Nestle and Mead Johnson.
Overall

Bodybuilding Legend Tom Platz Reveals His Two-Compound Steroid Cycle

Bodybuilding Legend Tom Platz Reveals His Two-Compound Steroid Cycle

Tom Platz, bodybuilding legend best known as the Quadfather, explains his steroid cycle and compares it to modern regimens.
Golden Era legend Tom Platz has opened up about his bodybuilding steroid cycle in a new video interview published by Golden Era Bookworm. Perhaps surprising to some, Platz took the “very minimum” with only two compounds in his cycle. He also shares his thoughts on modern bodybuilding steroid doses and cycles.
Tom Platz is an iconic bodybuilder and household name for any fan of bodybuilding and fitness. Best known as a Mr. Universe champion and for his insanely incredible legs – Platz had a reputation of incredible strength and consistency. Platz was a late Golden Era bodybuilder who competed well into the 1980s.
Tom Platz was not only an incredible legend during his prime – but continues to be beloved to this day for his intense training sessions now as a coach. He has also kept up with the work on himself – revealing incredible legs even at 65 years old. His work ethic has been revered similar to the likes of Mike O’Hearn. He is a one of a kind. A true legend in the sport.
Due to his long list of accolades, it comes as a treat when Tom Platz opens up in a brand new interview. Platz is the definition of success – so his words hang heavy on fans of the sport and aspiring bodybuilders. This might be especially true in his recent interview where he opens up about his steroid cycle and how it compares to the regimens that modern bodybuilders take today.
It’s no secret that steroid and drug use in bodybuilding has been an extreme and controversial topic of discussion as of late. There have been a number of tragic deaths in bodybuilding over the past few years – including George Peterson, Cedric McMillan, Bostin Loyd, and former Mr. Olympia champion Shawn Rhoden. This is just to name a few. Sadly there have been over a dozen of too-soon deaths in the bodybuilding world.
While none of these deaths have been exposed to be directly related to steroids – it brought these drugs to the forefront of conversation in the industry. Many have spoken out about the dangers of steroids, the massive increase in doses for modern bodybuilders, and what effects it might have on the current generation as they age.
It’s for these reasons as well that Tom Platz openness about steroids take on more weight. Why? Because he specifically emphasizes just how little he took in comparison to today’s athletes. You can check out the video below:

Tom Platz Claims To Have Only Take Two Steroid Compounds During His Entire Career
Tom Platz admits that many bodybuilders today may be shocked or simply not believe him – but he only two two compounds in his steroid cycle. This remained true for the entirety of his career. Platz states to have only taken Winstrol and Deca.
“I gotta tell you though because it’s on my mind — and nobody is going to believes me, they’re not going to believe me when they hear this. 20 milligrams of Winstrol (Stanozolol) a day, the little pills, the little pink pills and one shot of Deca (Nandrolone) a week, 100 milligrams That was my life’s drug cycle. That’s it. That’s all I ever did… I never took testosterone. I never took any of these designer drugs. I took the very minimum. I took less than the girls would take but it really worked for me. It worked for me.”
Tom Platz explains that he never used “designer drugs” or testosterone. The focus for him was on longevity. He wanted to not only succeed as a bodybuilder while he was young – but also have a healthier future beyond his prime years.
“It gave me longevity, a livelihood, to this day. I think a high dosage of drugs can really lead to problems as we’re seeing today.”
Platz goes on to compare bodybuilders and their bodies on stage to cars at a car show. He claims that his friend, Terry Wogan, had said to him that, “drugs aren’t going to mkae a Volkswagen into a Ferrari.” The idea being that the drugs don’t make the main – the perseverance and hard work (and a little bit of genetics) do. This is clear in the lifestyle that Platz lived. Today he is still best known for his incredible work ethic and strength.
And also much like a car – how well you take care of it determines how long it will last before you have to scrap it. Using the same analogy, the most drugs you pump into your system, the shorter distance you’ll ultimately get out of your life in the long run.

Tom Platz Reacts To Modern Bodybuilding Steroid Cycles
Tom Platz also looked towards the current crop of bodybuilding athletes and shared his thoughts on the kinds of steroid cycles they take. He admits that what he hears of today seems like a completely different world.
“But I see what some of the guys do now with androgens and how they affect sarcoplasm, which is a fluid substance around the muscle, as you know. It’s not really sailor muscle gains, it’s more water being distributed. I’ve come to respect and understand modern day — I think we’re in a pharmacological quagmire… It’s a different world.”
While Platz doesn’t outright condemn the current steroid cycles of bodybuilders today – it’s clear that he is overwhelmed by how different it is compared to his usage. He literally calls it another world. Perhaps this is a major reason why Platz is able to still showcase incredible strength to this day. He had it all – the legendary fame during his youth and a well lived life after retiring from the stage.

Liver King Fires Back At Joe Rogan’s Steroid Claims With Blood Test (Sort Of)

Liver King Fires Back At Joe Rogan’s Steroid Claims With Blood Test (Sort Of)

The Liver King takes a “blood test” to prove he is natural to Joe Rogan.
The Liver King has finally decided to clear the air about Joe Rogan’s steroid comments by taking a blood test to clear his name… in a satirical online sketch video. Podcast titan Joe Rogan and bodybuilding influencer Liver King have been beefing for most of 2022. The reason? Joe Rogan believes that there is no way that Liver King can be all natural. For his part, Liver King has held strong denying all steroid use allegations – usually with funny videos.
The Liver King natty or not question has long been in debate for the past few years as he gained prominence on social media. But things really turned to a head when Joe Rogan mentioned Liver King on his podcast. Rogan is a vastly influential podcaster who is often criticized for his off-handed comments that have either offended individuals, minority groups, or been accused of spreading misinformation.
So when the Liver King was mentioned on Joe Rogan’s podcast – it took the natty or not argument to a whole new level of public discourse. Rogan, for his part, believes that there is no way his physique can be achieved all-natural. Liver King has refused to admit he is anything but all-natural. He believes in the “ancestral approach to living” based on nine tenets that he applies to his daily life. Essentially, he believes in living off the land to achieve true physical and psychological mastery. His approach and personality has garnered him 1.6 million Instagram followers.
While Joe Rogan does not know Liver King personally, he is well versed in MMA, bodybuilding, and fitness. So he is pretty confident when he clearly claimed that Liver King “got an ass filled with steroids.”
Liver King had already responded by simply stating the was a freak of nature. A unique individual capable of more naturally than many can do even on steroids. But it seems that his original comment was not enough. Which is why he filmed a video after he took a blood test to prove his natural status.
Of course, this being the Liver King, the blood test was fake and the video was simply a joke to gain more attention off of the entire controversy. In either case, it’s an entertaining video that might give you a chuckle. You can watch it below:
