I learned my brother firefighter was diagnosed with lung cancer when we got home from Europe. I spent the following 2 weeks with him in and out of the hospital and he asked that I read the eulogy at his funeral. His funeral was August 26th. We were in all the same fires together and 1 & 3 of us will have cancer before age 65. We knew the risk going in...
I never stopped training, didn't go crazy eating much junk food and have been sitting at 188 lbs for weeks.
I've already started looking at Spring shows but haven't committed to anything. I'm still focused on death & dying.

yeah that is a brutal career. much less the smoke you breahte in but also the poor sleep and off hours. it really ages a person quickly my condolences
