well bro, i was doing cardio after each workout
so... hour and a half weight training, then 20 min INCINE power walk >no more than 2 hrs
, and i did this 5 days a week....weekends off.

and i never really did a Carb up day, just added oats in the morning.

as for you parents thats a tough call, it really all depends what their current health and diet is.

Like steph said this isnt a long term diet, but a great way to lose some weight QUICK

Yeah it's ONLY supposed to be used in the final two weeks of a cutting cycle. That's hard enough for a bodybuilder to do. I don't know anyone who isn't into training who would even attempt something like that, lol.

Ok, I'm all set for days that I train, but on days I don't train what about cardio? That was my big concern. I guess just do 45-60 minutes of cardio on the days that I don't do any other training. ?

Yeah, I know, but they won't listen. They helped me move this past weekend and I haven't seen them in 6 months so they were impressed at how much better I look. They asked me all about it and I told them my diet for the next two weeks and they are dead set on doing it too. They want to drop some quick weight. lol. What am I gonna do? I just want to make sure they stay safe.

Oh I hear that... definitely make sure they're safe. I just don't think this would be considered the best path for them though. They may need something less strict that would still adhere to the basic principles of dieting (lower calories and consuming quality foods - lean proteins, complex carbs, healthy fats; drinking lots of water, etc)

And good for them for even showing interest! :) My dad texted me the other morning to let me know he was eating an egg white omelet. Now if only I could get him to lift a weight, I'd feel so much better... Baby steps!

Well, my mom is gung ho about it, so I don't think she'd have trouble sticking to it even though it's pretty strict. My dad isn't as excited but my mom will make him do it. lol.

Do you think it would work for them to drop a few pounds in a couple weeks, and maybe encourage them that they can lose weight. I think they are discouraged because they aren't seeing results.

After I get back from my honeymoon I would like to help them get on a more permanent diet, but I was thinking that if they could lose 5-8 lbs in a couple weeks it might really make them want to stick with it that much more :)

It's basically just a keto diet, right? I mean, that should work for them shouldn't it? I am going to make them go on a walk with me at night for 30 minutes or so in addition to the diet. Hopefully I can push them in the right direction now that I'm back in the same state :)

Oh and good for your dad! That's great that he is showing some interest in eating healthy. I know what you mean about the weights, my dad has NO interest in doing that either, which is a shame because he has a good frame and would have a great physique if he worked on it a little. *sigh*
