Just wondering what some of you do that cant get to the gym until later. Im working out around 930 now thats how my schedule falls i have a pwo shake and then about midnight or so ill have a serving of carbs and protein before bed. What are you guys thoughts on this. What meals would you suggest as postworkout if you worked out this late, would you still cut the carbs off even after the workout or just keep them low?

The magical 4 to 1 ratio is ideal for muscle recovery after a workout is what my nutrionist says 4to1 meaning 4 grams of carbs to every 1 gram of protein. People leading an active lifestyle really need not worry about eating carbs before sleeping. I work out about 3 times a day now and i am pretty much eating like you before i go to sleep pwo shake and carbs with protein, but not at midnight lol thats past my bedtime. How much sleep are you getting cause my doc has me goin to sleep at like 8p.m. every day to make sure i get at least 8 hours of sleep.

I usually get home from the gym at 10:15pm every night, and I eat when I get home. Mainly I like a big bowl of cottage cheese with raisins in it and some whipped cream on top. Its pretty darn good. Otherwise I do my typical, tuna or chicken over salad.

I get 7 to 8 hours of sleep usually at least. My day doesnt start till around noon or so work wise so i can sleep in.

Thanks for the replies guys. My cals stay pretty low right now so i didnt figure carbs that late would be too terrible. I have to have a meal of whole foods before i go to bed though lol.
