Saturday training - Heavy Single

Not a bad day, wanted to deload total volume this week and build in some recovery for the left tricep. This week will feature no crazy benching or pressing. Going to fight the urge to do anything that will have tricep demands lol.

455 for a pin press single is pretty good for where I am right now with training. Currently in a volume block, and the heaviest benching I've done is 385lbs.

Going to finish out high volume until toward the end of July and then a family trip. Once I am back I will go into a high force production block and will try to pin press 495lbs -- will also be on slightly more supplementation for that as well.

The competition I am flirting with will be in November, if I can round out the force production block with a 495 press that will put me in a great position to hit a new personal record on bench come November.

These high volume blocks are fun, but they are just building the foundations. Kinda fun kinda boring. The force production blocks get me fucking fired up and excited.

@ckcrown84 this is some hardcore iron training at its best. i love to see some big weights fly around. It just proves the work you put in is paying off.

If anything I need to work on the bottom not top of a movement
Dead presses within 1-2 inches of your chest have great carryover to the bottom of the movement. These are used to build "starting strength" as there is no eccentric and associated elastic energy being stored to lift it out the bottom.

You can also do these for reps, but its a very different type of movement and one requiring patience, as you want to minimize the elastic energy and stretch reflex.

Could do like sets of 6 ish and have about ~2-3 solid seconds of rest between each rep helping to minimize that stretch reflex

405 5x3

then 1x20 - 325 this week

Stacking them victories, I hope to end my volume block with like 405 for 15-20. this is only week 4 or so, one more week in this block then taking an easy week. Things are heating up :)
