Well, I’ve been able to squeak in a couple workouts even with being sick. Although they found out, I didn’t have the flu that it is all allergies and maybe a little viral something going on. I just got back from the doctor where the doctor told me she is giving me a double dose of steroids so we will see how this works out. I just put cough drops in my mouth and I’m gonna do the best training that I can do for right now. I did back my dose down to 250 because I felt like it would be a waste if I’m sick so I will get a hopefully a couple weeks of training under my belt and then go back to the 500 per week.
You could have had allergies and it could have spread into a bacterial infection. I've had that before. It can spread in your sinuses and your chest. @drtbear1967

As far as food goes, I’m struggling to eat much of anything due to coughing and then getting choked. I’m focusing on lean chicken broccoli my wife makes sausage balls that are high protein, and I eat them as a snack or maybe even substitute a few of those for a meal if in a tight spot. I have Alpha Gayle so I do not eat very much red meat at all not that I don’t want to. I’m one of those individuals that can eat the exact same thing every day and it doesn’t bother me.
It sounds a bit weird and counterproductive but your body doesn't want to be fed right now. @drtbear1967 the more food you throw at it, especially things like sausage balls, the more stress you're going to put on your body. It's best to stick to some clean broth.

Sorry about being sick. That really sucks. It's very important to be healthy that's for sure. Lifting while you're sick is no fun. @drtbear1967

@drtbear1967 Bros, if you can't breathe, you're not going to be able to train. You got to get oxygen around your body and into your muscles. So don't overpush it. Maybe keep your workouts short.

@drtbear1967 man my allergies are absolutely killing me too. There’s also been a viral going around here. That’s been putting people down for about a week.

So they finally figured out that that my upper respiratory system system has dried out. This could be a combination of the weather as well as electric heat. So I’m having to do a breathing treatments set under a humidifier. If I do pretty much anything I start having spasms which causes the cops. I may end up having a transition to losing weight because I can’t eat. If I’m getting in 1500 cal a day I’m doing very good. I’ll keep you guys posted if you are a spiritual person and say a prayer the one up there for me. I’m down, but I’m not out.

you got it all fixed? you can get back to training? @drtbear1967

On top of the chest issue, I went and got blessed with the dang flu. So get over that and still have the hacking cough. 2026 been kicking my butt but I am ready for all of this to be over!

None of this actually started until cold weather and we turned on the heaters in the house. We have electric heat. I actually went to the hospital yesterday and they did some test so we’re gonna see what we come up with and hopefully we’ll be able to come to some kind of conclusion and get this thing taken care of. It’s absolutely sucks.

It looks like after the test that I had this week I had COVID sometime in the end of January 1st of February. This nagging cough along with getting the flu on top of it is what has set me back. They say that the cough is a lingering circumstance of COVID. I'm gonna give myself the next week to rest up and then evaluate where I'm at and start this thing over. There's a new gym that is opening up in my area as the old gym was kind of like a dungeon. They're gonna have showers saunas red light therapy along with the host of other things so I'm looking forward to getting started in a new environment and back on the grind.
