Hey I've always had the problem but never really noticed it was extreme until lately. I have extremely unproportional lats and it is really bothering me. I've been training back back hard recently and its only gotten worse. My right lat has exploded in size but my left lat seems to be not growing at all or if so barely. I've switched to DB. based back workout about 2 weeks ago and I don't know if this is enough time for it to be noticeable yet or not but I have noticed my right one has grown, but still nothing with my left. When I do DB.s I always start with my left and try to do 1 extra rep than what I do with my right and I can feel my lat working and getting a pump but it doesn't seem to be growing at all. My right lat is also longer then my left lat. Hopefully it's something I can fix. PLEASE HELP

do individual lats at a time using single hanlde pulldowns, and work it harder on one side, and less on the other

How long would it take before I should be able to see a noticeable growth in my left lat?

thats way too hard of a question to answer, esp without knowing you, its not like a textbook answer for how long it takes for a muscle to be as symmetrical as the other side

By that I just meant how long should it take before I can see my left lat GROWING....not how long for it to be symmetrical I just want to know how much time I should give it before I have to actually go and get it checked out if it is actually a real problem and still not getting bigger.

Are you saying the left lat hasn't grown at all, or just that it's growing slower than the right one? Also, a picture would be helpful.

It looks as if it hasn't even grown at all but if so it is barely noticeable while my right has grown and is very obvious.

Your workout surely wouldn't emphasize one side over the other that much. Do you do any work that requires pulling with your right arm? Also, any prior injuries or scar tissue on the left side?

No I don't have any work that uses one side more then the other, and there are no signs of scar tissue or any other issues.

yeah everything that Ox has said in the last 2 of his post for sure. You need to do all individual exercises too, no more single bar for both hand on back days and give it a few months and see how it goes

Thanks will do. Tmrw. is my back day so i'll try and take a pic. before my workout and after I workout wile I still have a pump and swell in it.

Here are some Pic.s if they help sorry if my poses are bad angles it's the best I could do....in the Back image everything is flipped so my left side is actually my right side

um how long have you been training

I've been working out for about 5 years now but it's been on and off. I've just recently got back into it but this has always been a problem. I just never really worked back before so now it is very noticeable since it's beginning to grow.

try the wide cable machine, and put single handles on both sides, put a little more weight on the side not growing (like 5 pounds) and get on your knees and pull your elbows into your lower lats
