diet soda...is it bad precontest?

Besides the fact that the artificial sweeteners will make you hold water (which i don't care about until the last week anyway) are there any negatives to diet soda when precontest dieting?

I would cut it out atleast 2 weeks prior to contest other than that my friends drink it!

I drink the non calorie flavored soda water from Walmart. Its not to bad. Later

Actually the carbonation inhibits uptake of oxygen into the muscles. Stick with water bro!
