Legs (SORE)

So Ive been using a box when doing squats so that I know Im parallel. Im tall and awkward and ugly but thats a different story,,, anyway, yesterday I got rid of the box and went slower on the reps and went a little below parallel. WOW and FUCK, My legs are sooo fucking sore that I can barely move. I also did 1/4 and 1/2 reps at the bottom for the first time, not sure if that did it or not.
Any of you guys go past parellel and do you do 1/4 and 1/2 reps at the end just to sqeeze a few more reps???

yeah i like going below parallel when i use to squat with healthy knees,lol, but no i never did half or quarter reps, not for warm up and not at end for extra burn, i could see how it works though as ive done this for bench on occassion but never did it for squats
 
I don't do anything crazy especially now with my back. I think I hit parallel, but I'm not sure. As long as it feels good I'm happy. Squats scare the crap out of me so nothing fancy
 
I actually once in awhile do Ass to Floor Squats...these are done in a Smith Machine, and I use from 135-315 only. I actually touch my ass to the ground on each rep and then lift... I find for bodybuilding purposes, when I do these regularly I see good size growth, though some people consider these dangerous (which they are)..the pump you will get in your legs will literally have you sitting on the floor unable to move.

I also only squat below parallel, super deep for growth purposes. For size gains, I don't personally find Box Squats to work...though in my case I focus on super heavy box squats because I want strength over size.

i cant go ass to floor without weight let alone with 315 on my back. . ! paralel for me at 6'3 my legs are a little awkward... knees hurt to easily
 
I used to love box squats we would actually pause for a couple seconds then come up and it built strength up like crazy. We even used to box squat with chains on each side of the bar too and get the explosion effect
