I set a new PR tonight for a raw deadlift. I've lifted more in a deadlift suit, but never raw before. I haven't really been doing many single rep sets recently so I figured I'd give it a try tonight. I put 385 on the bar and did it for 3 easy reps and figured fuck it I'll go more for 1 rep and see what I can do. I went to 415 and it felt easy so I went to 435 and pulled it just as easy. I think I could've went more, but I'd done a lot of reps and sets at this point so I stopped there. I think I could probably get 455 if not more right now. The most I've ever done was 468 in competition, but like I said, that was in a deadlift suit. I'd like to get over 500 by the end of the year and things are looking like that might happen. My weight is still at 165 roughly so I'm looking forward to pulling more than 3 times my bodyweight. The 468 was when I weighed 175 too so this is a PR for bodyweight also

Thanks, I know I can get 455 and I'm kinda bummed that I didn't try it, but I was worn out and probably would've just been mad had I not gotten it. Oh well, back to rack pulls next week so the week after I'll attempt it and we'll see what happens

Congrats bro good shit. Keep the hard work up keep us posted on your new lifts. How about posting a vid when you attempt your new weight next time.

That's awesome bro. I just got back into rack deadlifts a few weeks before I started my diet. Once this is done I'm going to hit rack and floor deads hard. You're one powerful dude

I was going to take a video yesterday, but I forgot once I started. I need to start taking some more videos, it's hard to take on my phone because I don't really have a way to keep it in place, but I'll figure it out. I'll get some squat videos up here too, I have been squatting pretty well lately, not going completely parallel, but still kinda deep in comparison to most guys in the gym. Typically I'll grab a flat bench and squat down until my ass hits it then back up, it's not a full 90 degree squat, maybe more like 75 degree, but I did 345 the other day like 8 reps and it felt really good so I'm going to try hitting 400 before too long. Just need a spotter when I attempt that. I've done 501 in competition before, but again that was at a higher weight and in a squat suit

I usually start with 20 minutes of stretching on leg day. I shoot below 90 for maximum growth . Start with 3 warming sets at 135 then 6 working sets at 225 for 12 reps then work my way up to my last set at 395 - 405 for 3 - 8 reps, my resting is about minute and a half in between set. This routine helps me go deep on squats.

I will occasionally go below parallel just because that's what I'm used to doing with powerlifting, but without a spotter, I can't go too heavy with it. Deep squats do feel the best, but I make up for not going deep by going with a wider foot placement on the leg press and going deeper on those if I don't do deep squats.

The rack pull videos came out pretty good.

Yea, if I can get the same bench I'll be able to play with it

Yea I don blame you I hate doing squats by myself, but have you tried using the squat racks and just place the safety bars. If not then give it a shot to atleast to get use to the motion of deep squats.

When I squat, I will mostly just use the stilts. That way I can walk out the weight to where I'm comfortable and go from there. I will go into a rack and place the pins high if I'm doing 1/2 squats just to go heavier. I'd say I only come down 8-10 inches on those though, but I'll go up to 500+ on those just get strengthen my erectors and use a lot of hips so that once I start coming up with lighter weights it'll really come up easy. It's the same principle of doing rack pulls basically.
