I've got little to no stamina when it comes to doing cardio. I get very winded on leg day and I've just had enough so I'm trying to build my cardio back up. What do you guys think will be the best way? I've started walking for 2 minutes, then jogging for 2 and continuing that for a total of 20 minutes. So it's 10 minutes jogging and 10 minutes walking and it has been feeling great.

I've recently started doing the same thing for the same reason, lol. My lungs give out before my legs do on squats, it's pathetic. Anyway, interval training is great, I've been doing the stairmaster though and it is tougher on the lungs than I thought it would be. An added benefit is that I'm hoping it will help with calf development. Really though, I think anything will be beneficial as long as you stick with it.

Interval training is a good thing to do for cardio when a person is of large or muscular stature because one it strengthens the heart and builds lung capacity better than say a consistent walk or some
non changing of speed or incline type of cardio you are doing .I was advised this from a sports Dr. after a bout with pneumonia that about took me out. I currently have a tough time even jogging etc but am
keeping at it . Consistency is the key..

Well, I should've added that smoking is a killer for me that I've cut back tremendously and I'm on the verge of being done completely, I'm just weening myself down rather than trying to stop cold turkey. I've cut from a pack a day down to 5 a day. So I'm nearly there and I know by jogging and doing cardio, it'll be easier to stop because I'll feel terrible when I do smoke. And I can honestly say that since I've started jogging, cigarettes taste totally different as weird as that is, they just don't even taste right anymore so it's easier to pass on one when I would've normally lit up

Geeze . Dam smokes in wa.state around 10$ a pack.Good luck and I know that's a tough gig to stop. Today when I'm leaven my gym as i drive around back of gym I see two personal trainers puffin a square on break. Great for their customers to see.

Yea, it's a tough one to break, I've done it a couple times in the past. The only thing that gets me now is that my job stresses me out more than any one I've ever had and that's initially what caused me to start again (all my sups and managers smoke except 1). So that kind of gives you an idea of why I started, I was just around it non-stop. But like I said, I'm cutting back at a good rate so I know within a month I should be completely done and by that time, my endurance should be up to par as well

Damm.Maybe we should sell the 5$ camels here in wa. We'd get rich even if Johnny law didn't like it. Keep up
the good work and keep training. Best drug for the mind!

Yea, double your money in a legit style. Like you said, the law wouldn't like it, but there's not much they can say about it. They're still getting there taxes oh well

I guess it would depend on the person and your goals. Personally I can not eat enough to do much of any appreciable cardio in the offseason, but I'm also pretty heavy and still trying to grow. Running is out of the question for me. Just not possible. I may try a 20 minute slow walk with the wife twice a week, but that's about tops for me. I have to break up sex into sessions because I get winded.... not very good for my confidence.

As far as the sex goes, I can relate and it's quite the let down. It used to get embarrassing when I wasn't dating anyone

I think what you said "build up" was the key for you. You gotta start somewhere so I think what you are doing is a great start. I agree with bigghorn, consistency. And if it's feeling good then stick with it.

I suck at cardio, but then again, I guess thats why it works so well for me. I would rather get kicked in the nuts than have to do cardio. lol

When will this be starting? :)

Oh boy..... I'm assuming you're talking about the walks b/c I already have to call the timeouts :-)
