Always! back, chest, shoulders, legs. Great option for us guys with nagging injuries.Gotten great inner growth for my chest on the hammer.

Love them too! But, I dont use them exclusively.

I've seen a lot of people just use them and not use free weights- bad idea.

Definetly my favorite for heavy back exercises on weeks i dont deadlift

yeah they are great for replacing certain exercises but I don't think anyone should use them exclusively.

Mine gym doesn't have too many either. Incline chest, bicep curl and, pull down stuff. Other than that, it is lacking. I usually use them at the end of the w/o to completely exhaust the muscle....

my gym has a lot of hammer - they are good for machines. I use them to switch it
up from free weights. Great for working around injurys. I know the upper back
one. I just use that one for shrugs to break it up from dumbells. Works pretty good.
You use less auxillary muscles with hammer (just my opinion) but I seem to have
a harder work out with free wts. (could just be mental thing)

No it’s not just your opinion, it is the fact of the matter. OF COARSE less muscles are being worked as opposed to free weight. Ever notice how it’s a lot easier to push weight on those machines???

I personally don’t understand why people use these machines unless they are injured or are they’re just trying to shake things up a little. IMO, hammer Machines are for lazy people and/or women. :D

Hey, just didn't want some hammer diciple freaking out. Truthfully, I use them
when I dont feel like busting my balls and want to get in and out of the gym fast.
I been working out for a little over 30 years. Every workout cant be a ballbuster.
I'm pretty consistant with my workouts but being married w/chrildren sometimes
I'm tight on time and using some Hammer machines I can pump the muscle
up and be out of there quick. On my hard workouts somtimes I'll throw
in a hammer just to finish or to hit the muscle at a different angle.
They can be useful to supplement.

I use 1 hammer in each bodypart workout.. to use them exclusively is a mistake as you will feel better isolation but not anywhere near the same muscle, tendon and ligaments... i use use 2-3 excercise per body part and use hammer as one usually a finishing excercise..

But i have to say that there are a couple of hammer machines that are hard to beat.

Upper back rows
Pulldown machine
seated leg curls
seated rows
seated/standing shrug... i use it for deadlifts as it is safer for me then barbell deads.

other then that, i feel other excercises are best overall.

When i switched from decline and switched to deep dips my lower chest grew .. decline were very unkind to my shoulders.. great finisher though and if done in partial and slow reps decline is nice... just not afan as long as i can dip dip dip dipity du
