Ok guys. Ive been back at it hard for almost 1 year. I need to post pics but I need help. For most of the year, I ignored legs. I have started them 1 month ago and its the same or worse as the past. I can not break through the pain when doing squats, leg press. I know there are more reps left in me but the pain feels like someone is stabbing at me. I also feel like a virgin, in that Im learning foot placements and form whcih distracts me but in the end, Im a big fat pussy. What do you guys do to break through this!!!!

legs has always been my favorite, but i suffer from the same thing when it comes to biceps.

each muscle i believe, a person expiriences a diffrent pain?......ive learned and forced my self to deal with it and fight through it. its very important that you recognize what pain is what (distinguishing pain from pump, muscle fatigue and that of an injury).

try stretching, maybe train light and focus on high reps, until your able to train your self to block out the pain.

my arms have grown alot from me learning to push through. No pain no Gain bro.

Lower the weight, make sure to stretch before during and after workout, get your form perfected before adding weight. Drink alot of water before during and after, Try some MC Nitric Oxide https://www.musclechemistry.com/pro...id=57&osCsid=82c391a2e8faf53f301925785101ffda to help dialate vessels and get more blood/oxygen to muscles.

He's already pimping the MC products! Hahaha

What is the pain from? Are you recovering from an injury? Is it knee pain? Or, just muscle pain?

It's that burning pain in the thighs. I used to have it in my biceps but found a way to deal with it and for some reason don't even get it anymore. Maybe I'll try more water, stretching and such. It sounds like you guys are not experiencing this massive burn, so I'll dig down harder and let you know. Any suggestions are appreciated. I think I'm just a puss when it comes to the leg burn

Doesn't sound like you are doing anything wrong, but quite the opposite. Sounds like you are getting great pumps from your leg workouts. I have trouble getting a good pump in my legs. Because of my bad knees, I really have to limit the weight and do high reps.

It's not a cramping feeling, right?

We stop being pussies and fight through it lol...No, I'm just fucking with you man. Seriously though, try stretching and go light to get a pump. Once you get a couple of weeks in of lightweight and get through the pain threshold, go a little heavier. If you have to, use some icy hot, stopain, bio-freeze or something to dull it out. I always have to use this stuff on my elbows when I bench because my elbows start bothering me, but this stuff numbs it long enough to deal with it. Or if you're training with someone, just have them slap the shit out of you and get you so mad you forget about it lol

id say since you are just getting back at lifting w ur legs, ur body isnt used to it so its storing more lactic acid in them. I say it will slowly get better. And Ox thats funny lol, Leo you see where im coming from, it really will help

This thread immediately made me think of this.

Hmmmm...what you're experiencing sounds a lot like what I have gone through. Whenever I would do legs in the past, at some point, I would get a painful burn in the area right above the knee, and I would have to stop. If I waited a couple of minutes, I could do a few more reps until having the same thing happen. This seems to happen much faster now than it used to.

Basically, I found I was not activating the leg muscles correctly due to a few things including foot placement and a learned behavior in the way I use my legs. I finally went to a trainer a few months ago (this guy was also a bodybuilder and has won a contest), and he was able to see what was wrong. We literally had to start over with 90 lbs on a squat machine, but we were able to get me using the right muscles by doing the movement going ass to the grass, i.e., going lower than 90 degrees, plus I had to learn to fully push from the heels. Doing this has put an inch on my legs in just a few months--far more than I have gotten in years.

^^^^ yes...pushing thru with the heels is the most common thing I see people not doing..give that a try..
Other than that, as long as there is no injury you just gotta man up and get it done...the mind will fail way before the body will..you are the boss, you tell it what you want it to do...you dont let it beat you...
