after 10 days, another day wont do crap. If its red, swolen and you have a fever, then theres trouble. I would have tried to lance it by now. Use a larger gauge needle, clean everything with aclohol, oh, first take a bath, real hot on your ass. Bring it to the surface. Get that shit out. Some people have said how swollen they are, then I look at it and its like a pimple. I wouldnt want that going systemic and causing real problems. If you have good insurance, go to ER, not primary care

I took some winny in the quads and it swelled up like that; Doc gave me anti-biotics and it cleared up

well broke down and took your guy's advice and went to the doctor

in a nutshell he doesn't know what the fuck it is!

here's the long version...
went in filled out the paper work-never been to this doctor before but he works with a lot of bodybuilders in the area

they take blood and test for blood pressure and resting heart rate

the PA walks in and starts asking family medical history and then ask me what the problem is-so I tell him I have this huge lump on my left glute due to swelling

he asks me, "are you juicing?" I tell him yeah
then the doctor walks in and we go through the shit again

the doctor tells me, "it's pretty obvious you probably have an abcess-how long have you had a fever?"

I don't-his eyes get real big and says not good...drop your pants let's see the swelling

I drop them and the doctor says, SHIT! the PA says "holy...I've never seen swelling that big ever!"

the doctor starts feeling around saying, "soft, soft, hold on this part here is hard I think I found the head"........sounds like a gay porn huh?

he says pull your pants we have problems-it could be mercer!!!

if it is in a couple more weeks you could be in the ICU had you not come in

he says it's too deep to lance and he's hoping the antibiotics will either knock it out or push it to the surface where he can lance it-if that doesn't work there is option C and all he would say is-it's not pretty

OH IT GETS BETTER-when I was talking deep breaths he noticed something wierd so they put me on an EKG and said there is something fucked up with my heart so they are scheduling me to get an echo done sometime next week

so bottom line thanks for staying on my ass guys (no pun intended) and getting me to go to the doctor

BTW he wants me off everything for the next 2 weeks to see what my BP and resting heart rate will be...it was super high in there 150/100

alright not meaning to beat a dead horse here but I figure that maybe one day someone might get something out of this thread

the abcess came to a head this morning, went to the doctor and he cut it...

I kid you not, it squirted about 2ft and splatted on the wall next to me, when it drained it sounded like someone was pissing on the floor

it took him 45min of pushing and squeezing to get all the puss out and he said he still doesn't know if he got it all

he sent it off for testing-he's pretty sure it's MRSA...not good, not good at all

he also said there's a good chance that I'll end up in the hospital depending on how the antibiotics work

here's the kicker, he said judging by the shit coming out, the infection has probably been in there for A LONG TIME. I guess that MRSA can lay dormint in a person for weeks or even months.

oh wow. Yeah when I got an abcess on my neck (from popping an ingrown hair out) a year ago, the doc squeezed as hard as he could and about a golf ball amount of shit came out.... I have seen alot of stuff, including full hip replacements in the OR where the doc is literally hammering the rod down, to anything else u can imagine in the OR but this abcess was fucking nasty

yeah it was like right where it goes from under your mouth into the neck, I didnt make a sound but my hands looked like I just dumped a glass of water on each one, the doctor said "you must be pretty tough bc I have never done this on someone especially in an area like the without some sounds of pain coming out". I just wished I got a lolli at the end
